It is the Mission of the Nebraska Family Forum (NFF) to promote education policies in our state that preserve and protect parental authority and the integrity of the family. In so doing, we will preserve the cooperative and respectful relationship between school authorities and parents, preserve a family-centered community, and provide a well-rounded education for our kids.

The Facebook Effect: Melanie
One of our kitties is very sick and likely will not live many more days, in spite of our efforts. My daughter - a nearly straight-A student - wanted to spend some time with her kitty before she dies. That means she will be missing school tomorrow, bringing her to 8 days missed: 5 days for her volunteer service trip to Haiti, 2 days from illness, and tomorrow. We'll see how the rest of the year goes, but I find it intriguing (and I'm appalled) that we should even have to consider the short-sighted arrogance of Nebraska officials who think they know better about the well-being of my children. Correction - ... of Nebraska officials who are putting forward a false pretense of caring about the well-being of our children, but who are really attempting to standardize not only our children's education, but our family life - under the law - for their own benefit.
