Robin's Story

My child was just removed from my home by using this "truancy law." My daughter suffers from chronic illnesses and is not truant. If it is the last thing I do, I will make sure that Judge Crnkovich does not get reelected! My child was so upset, and because of her emotional outburst, the judge had her led off in handcuffs! I want her gone!

I have a KVC worker who has been good to talk with today. My daughter is doing better today and will be at school tomorrow. We are going to try and get my doctor to write up a comprehensive report, because the county attorney, the prosecutors, and the judge have no clue what it means to be a child with a chronic illness.

I was told once that the guardian ad litem could not talk to me because they represent the child! I greatly doubt they are in fact representing my child. Every last single officer of the court is way too cozy with each other. I don't believe they are there to be advocates for children.

It is time that someone actually thinks about how laws like this harm innocent children and families who are doing nothing wrong, and are trying to do what's best for their kids. I'd like to know if they would be at work everyday with their migranes, flu, etc. And even if they went, how could they be effective at their jobs? It works the same with sick kids in school, just because they are forced to be there, it doesn't mean they can learn. Who can even think straight when they are sick, much less concentrate on learning something!

When I made this point to the judge, she was less than impressed. Her response to me was, "Children need to be in school." So when I get my daughter back, I will be sure to send her to school even if she is vomiting. I will instruct her to vomit in public places; don't even attempt to make it to the rest rooms. That way she has witnesses.

  1. I have been dealing with Judge Crnkovich for 2ys regarding truancy - my daughter was diagnosed with depression and ADD - she has now been removed from my home for a second time even though the judge did let her withdraw from school - so she is sitting in DCYC and she was told that truancy isn't a crime but then they put these kids on probation so they can catch them and put them in the youth center and she is pregnant and not receiving the care she needs - many loopholes in our case but the public attorney doesn't have the time or guts to really lash out at this woman who is taking kids away from parents who are supporting their kids instead she would rather waste tax payers money and break up families.
